Futures for Children believes that the
opportunity to receive education and training is
a key element for integration within society and
that wherever possible children should be
enabled to receive education in the mainstream
schools or special educational units in the
community in which they are living. Futures for
Children can help to access these resources by
ensuring that appropriate assessment and
support are available for each child.
Futures for Children has a record of success in
introducing children into education in all regions
of the country. On the rare occasion where a
child has to await a school placement, Futures
for Children require that some daytime sessional
support is provided for the carers in recognition
of the child being at home full time. Additional
support can be negotiated with the placing local
authority and tailored to the needs of the
individual child.
